I’m Christina Burkenroad
I’ve spent more than a decade playing professional football, and somewhere along the way I realized that some of the biggest parts of being a footballer are the things nobody really teaches you.
How to handle pressure. What to do when your confidence disappears. How to deal with being on the bench, injuries, expectations, comparison, bad games, big opportunities, and all the uncertainty that comes with chasing something you really care about.
I’ve experienced a lot of those moments myself, and over the years I learned that becoming a better footballer wasn’t only about training harder. A lot of it came from learning how to think, how to keep perspective, and how to navigate the highs and lows of the game.
That’s a big part of why I created The Footballer’s Playbook — to share what I’ve learned and give players the kind of guidance I would have loved to have when I was younger.
Inside The Footballer’s Playbook
The Footballer’s Playbook was created to help players navigate all sides of being a footballer — not just what happens on the field.
From confidence, pressure, playing time and setbacks to overthinking, perspective and reaching the next level, these are the parts of the game that every player experiences but aren’t always taught.
Alongside the mental side of the game, I also offer technical and tactical sessions for players looking to develop their football, understand the game at a deeper level, and continue growing as a player.
The goal is simple: to help footballers become more confident, prepared, and complete — both on and off the field.
